I'm no mechanic so feel free to come and assess the issue yourself . Might be an easy fix for someone in the know. I already have a cheap diesel daily so no swaps and it goes without saying but due to the gappy engine it is 'Sold as seen'. The car is in good condition all round considering it's age. It has new tyres all round budgets on the back pirelli powergys on the front. Wheels have been refurbished New pagid discs and pads on the back new brembo pads on the front with old but good brembo discs Brand new marle aircon condenser and pipework (gutted as this was done 2 weeks before engine went) Had the water pump and Campbelt changed at 130k Full service history with recipts to work been done along the way.

Mazda Mx5 NC 2.0L PRHT silver Convertible  Here for sale is a car which is beautiful to drive, however has knocking coming from the engine. The car has an updated exhaust system and remap producing 180bhp which I have the dyno for. This is the sought after 2.0L PRHT with manual gearbox and as this has the maximum spec for the nc mx5, also has a limited slip differential and uprated bill stein suspension. - there is also a pioneer upgraded head unit to allow for Bluetooth connection. When I purchased this car 6 months ago, I carried out a full service including engine oil change, oil filter, differential oil, gearbox oil and spark plugs (uranium). Has MOT until 11 February 2026. It had a pretty poor MOT in January which I paid for welding to the the rear arches, new lambda sensors and other things to get it through, then a couple of months later the knocking sound  appeared in which I stopped driving the vehicle immediately to prevent further engine damage. The bodywork is poor (rusting around arches with paint bubbling in places, rusting from stone chip front of car) and the alloys have a few curb marks The reason for sale is driving was costing me a lot financially as I am an apprentice so am forced to sell the car.  I am happy to answer any questions, this is a great vehicle and just needs the engine fixing I have been completely honest with the condition of the car.

Rover 45 Diesel. Spares/repairable. One of the last indigenous British saloon cars to be produced and a nice looking modern classic that will only appreciate. Two owners from new,cared for car solid car with all the bells and whistles (ex demonstrator)and in working order. The car wouldn't start one day so a transistor was professionally soldered into the fuel pump. Still wouldn't start so I fitted a mechanical injection pump out of a rover 200.The car starts but smokes. The L series diesel engine is a bulletproof engine (fitted to Land rovers) so probably nothing fundamentally wrong, just that I've inherited another car and this one I think just needs a bit more perseverance. (I'll be sorry to see it go)
