This was purchased as a smell project but due to personal reasons I can no longer continue with it,it has no mot , it has a blow in the exhaust, needs new wipers, it has a small crack in the window screen which is on the drivers side , and the headlights need a polish as they are clouded up,the car starts and drives as it should with no lights on the dash , it is a 15 year old car so it does have some small scratches but should benefit from a good polish,the roof works perfectly , has 1 key , nice car for summer for someone who is willing to put some time into it .

Daihatsu Copen 659cc. 2004. Spares or repair. • Daihatsu Copen, registered April 2004. • 659cc, 4 cylinder, turbocharged twin cam, 16 valve engine. • 2 owners from new. • 60,500 miles. • Service history. • 2 sets of keys. • V5 and old MOTs. • SORNed since 2019 – no MOT, not taxed. • Stored in a dry barn since 2019. • Spares or repair. The Copen has been off the road and stored in a dry, if dusty barn since 2019. Regularly used until 2019, the car ran fine, the automatic folding roof worked without problem and everything worked as it should. As with many Copens, the rear wheel arches suffer from rust, with rust also appearing near the sills. Additionally, the right-hand rear wing has a dent in it due being reversed into by an inattentive driver (see photos). New rear wheel arches/wings are required. This was why the car was taken off the road and SORNed, pending repairs. Then COVID came along and other matters took priority. Inside, the car is clean and tidy, allowing for being in storage (spiders have been squatting in it). No tears or holes in the seats or carpets. All the instruments and radio worked when the car was taken off the road. The engine bay is as you’d expect on a car stored for 6 years: all there but a little dusty. The car has no battery so the boot cannot be opened, but it was clean and tidy when the Copen was taken off the road. Given its position in a barn tucked in a corner, it is difficult to take good photos of the car. As it has no battery, it cannot currently be started and driven. For serious enquiries, a temporary battery can be connected to the car. The Copen has had a light wash to remove wind-blown dust accumulated during storage. It looks a bit dirty in some photos. The photos show the rust and temporary ‘repairs’ to the rear wheel arches, and also the condition of the interior. It would make a good project for someone to repair and then enjoy: its a great car to drive. Alternatively, it could be a source of spares for other Copens. £600 or open to offers. MOT expired. Many repairs needed before presenting for MOT. Known issues are: Faulty oxygen sensor causing engine fault light to be on. Crankcase breather pipe split. Wishbone bushes worn and pulling out of bush sleeves. Track rod ends and gaitors need replacing. Corroded central exhaust mount. Passenger side window switch missing. Front and rear valances show signs of crazing but are structurally ok. Needs 4 new tyres. We have had previous welding repairs made to both sills to pass previous MOTs. Car was running fine before expiry of MOT 14 June 2025. Car is very presentable inside and out. This is a 19 year old car that requires work to get back on the road. AK06TKV has a displayed mileage of 144,000 miles but actual milage is 70 to 80 K. Previous owner had to have the immobilisor replaced with a used item that came with different displayed mileage on the dash. The interior is in very good condition throughout. Worth buying to obtain interior alone! Hood intact but has had repairs internally around the rear glass panel. Hood is watertight. This is my honest assessment of a much loved car which we have had since 2020 (a Bangers and Cash purchase from Matthewsons in Yorks). Various receipts and paperwork to go with car.

Had clutch master cylinder replaced as was told that was problem why car wouldn't start. No lights on dash or fault codes, it says push clutch to start but will still not start. All interior, exterior and engine bay mint condition no wear.(apart from wing) Power hood and every switch on car full working order mint condition no wear at all. Only 72k mileage Car is sorn. Could be easy fix for someone that knows cars well. Buyer would need to get car recovered from Grimsby as it will not drive. ie truck/trailer.
