It stands for ?Sport und Leicht?, or sporting and lightweight, and can be traced back to the 190SL of the 1950s, as well as the legendary ?Gullwing? 300SL. But by the 1970s, the car had become neither light nor particularly sporty. Indeed, it's one of the heaviest sports cars of its era and not a particularly agile one at that. Original bought this a couple of months ago with the intention of breaking it and using some of the parts for an identical diesel I have, once I had a good look around its too good for that . It has low mileage recent subframe, lower arms and front shocks I have replaced the front discs and pads a very noisy and leaking water pump rocker cover gasket and leaking oil switch along with 3 tyres. It now has an mot until 30/06/2026 quite a nice spec E/W, E/M, cruise control, CD radio Aux socket on board computer. Will not respond to silly offers genuine questions answered asap, half a tank of petrol at moment.
