BMW e46 318Ci convertible 2.0 petrol 5 speed manual in Topaz Blue. It had been parked up for 4 years by the previous owner when it stopped running and left under a tarpaulin on the driveway. I bought it this year as something to tinker with and get running. I've replaced the parts that it needed to get it running and and to pass an MOT, including fuel pump, crankshaft position sensor, camshaft position sensor, tyres, boot struts, rocker cover gasket, CCV, Vanos oil seals, vacuum pump oil seals, door speakers and various bulbs and now it runs and drives and everything works. Has had new oil, oil filter, plugs and airfilter. The roof is in great condition and opens and closes perfectly, everything works. Video linked below to avideo I uploaded of the roof working - https://youtu.be/ltRhu2NL-9g It could do with a new passenger wing as it has rusted through and has had a previous repair by a former owner but could be repairable by someone with the skils, also the front bumper is a bit faded it could do with some general TLC as it's been stood for so long prior to my getting it at the beginning of the year and it being 23 years old. It failed the first MOT in April as it was burning oil, so have done the Valve Stem Oil seals and it's now taxed and MOT'd. Runs very smoothly and was a very nice drive with the top down in the sunshine back from the MOT. BMW 118D M SPORT Registered 03/11/2008. 146,251 miles. Non runner. This will need collecting with a trailer etc. I am selling this car for my son who lives away and has bought another car as he needed to get back on the road as soon as possible after this let him down. We have received a tentative diagnosis of the timing chain having jumped a tooth. The car will actually start if you try hard enough but runs very rough until about 2000 RPM then will smooth out. Ultimately we do not know for sure what the problem is, so please view the car as a non runner and make sure you are happy with this. Apart from this the car is in reasonable condition inside and out, it has a few marks and dings commensurate with age but nothing to bad. The MOT runs until 01/10/2025 and it has had a fairly recent clutch assembly. Comes complete with the 19” alloys and good tyres.
