Still starts up but no mot. Age related marks. Has been sat since end of February, starts but Ive not driven. Brought new car so no longer need. Needs new exhaust it’s very loud and rattling, Battery in key fob doesn’t work so key needs to be used, tyres will need replacing, passenger door will not open from the inside, no back window wiper, never had and doesn’t fail on the mot. Renault Megane Dynamique 1.6 petrol, with only 75k miles. Lady owner for past 9 years. Left in garage & unused for about 4 years. Put new battery in & fresh petrol & it started 1st time! This car was used daily, until arrival of children. Mot expired back then. It has a brand new battery. The ignition coils & low profile tyres were replaced when last used. The glass roof folds down into the boot (which is huge, when roof is up) but haven't done this recently, as car is now on driveway & don't want to take any chances. It was fine back then, but I will leave to new owner to lube the mechanism, but it used to have no problems. Can be driven as is, of course. The worst point is lacquer flaking, around the boot & nearby. (please check pictures) It also has air conditioning (will need filling obviously) & alloy wheels. Also a good sounding original CD player. This car is perfect for some cheap summer fun & someone who is able to spend a few hours getting it all good. Injury means I cant do it myself. MOT expired. Many repairs needed before presenting for MOT. Known issues are: Faulty oxygen sensor causing engine fault light to be on. Crankcase breather pipe split. Wishbone bushes worn and pulling out of bush sleeves. Track rod ends and gaitors need replacing. Corroded central exhaust mount. Passenger side window switch missing. Front and rear valances show signs of crazing but are structurally ok. Needs 4 new tyres. We have had previous welding repairs made to both sills to pass previous MOTs. Car was running fine before expiry of MOT 14 June 2025. Car is very presentable inside and out. This is a 19 year old car that requires work to get back on the road. AK06TKV has a displayed mileage of 144,000 miles but actual milage is 70 to 80 K. Previous owner had to have the immobilisor replaced with a used item that came with different displayed mileage on the dash. The interior is in very good condition throughout. Worth buying to obtain interior alone! Hood intact but has had repairs internally around the rear glass panel. Hood is watertight. This is my honest assessment of a much loved car which we have had since 2020 (a Bangers and Cash purchase from Matthewsons in Yorks). Various receipts and paperwork to go with car.
