I have owned this car for 10 years and gutted to have to let it go but needs must. No mot but will fly one no problem. Needs some work hence price. Had new clutch a few mths ago but not been used really since. New head at 97000 from VW. Drives fantastic but has slight stutter sometimes due to needing a tandem pump as oil getting into fuel filter. Can supply the pump for £60 if needed. Other than that the car has been my baby for a long time. Needs a clean and some body work in the usual places as shown. Puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it as running around 230 BHP. I have this car for nearly 17 years. 2.0 Fsi engine. Always used super unleaded fuel. Never had any mechanical problem. No accident. Cruise control, Parking sensors, electric windows, rain sensor etc. Had regular service done until 2021, since then only changed oil filters. Belt and tank was changed at 60k milee. Battery has nearly 3 ys warranty, rear brake pads under kwik fit warranty, also calipers are just over a year old. Front left wing is rusty, ceiling cloth come off, needs tiding. Few other scratches etc. 2 doors not locking with central locking, I was told could be fuses, need a full service and proper clean. Possibly need front one parking bulb as sometimes light comes on. Selling because need a small car.

I have had this car almost from new. First as a company car and then bought it from my former employer. It has been serviced regularly in accordance with the reminders it gives me and a full service history is available from Pony Road Autos if wanted (they have serviced it since we moved to Oxford in 2012). Been used mainly for motorway journeys so the engine has always had time to warm up. My wife and I have both used it and apart from replacing a clutch it has never really broken down. It still drives well although as you would expect being old there are a few things no longer working. These are: air conditioning, the key fob control for opening the car (locking stilll works) so if we lock the car we open with the physical key. The rear door central locking/opening on one door does not work so the door won't open. It can open but for some reason when it was locked by the fob it then refused. I understand it can be sorted but we never bothered. The turbo boost is intermittent so it can be a bit slower getting up to speed but we do 70mph on the motorways (we are very law abiding but it probably will go faster!). The engine is now more noisy than before but it still seems to run alright. The radio is ok ish but the CD player works well. The cigar lighter works as I use it for pumping up the tyres. Unlike modern cars it actually has a proper spare tyre! It has a current MOT. As it is old we have reflected that in the asking price. The mark 4 Golf is a Classic in my view. Much better than the later mark 5 which I also drove (but that is only my view).
