It was launched in 1986, alongside the 735i. The E32 730i featured a six-cylinder inline engine and perfectly captures the understated luxury and precise driving dynamics that define BMWs legacy.The Car:Originally registered in 1987 and supplied by Holland Park LTD in London, this elegant saloon is finished in a refined Diamond Black Metallic paintwork which does look to appear more grey today, paired with a sophisticated blue leather interior. Reported by the current owner to be largely original, with the arches believed to have not been repaired for rust or anything like that. Still retaining its original interior mat and stickers on windscreen etc.Powered by its 3-litre straight-six engine, specifically the M30B30, producing 185bhp and 190lb/ft of torque, reaching 62mph in 9.3 seconds coupled with automatic gear box. Features include electric windows throughout, air-conditioning and an onboard computer all hallmarks of late 1980s executive comfort.The car was maintained by Holland Park up until 2004. In 2000, the instrument cluster was replaced due to a fault with the SI board, as documented in the history file. At the time, the odometer showed 30,000 miles; it now displays 43,425 miles.The vehicle remained in the London area until the early 2000s and was acquired by its current owner in 2011. It served as a daily driver for the first few years before transitioning to occasional use, particularly after the shift to working from home. Unfortunately in the current ownership it has had the front drivers wing and bonnet resprayed due to vandalism - someone keyed the wing and bonnet when it was parked on the road and has had some dents pulled out when first purchased.In May 2025, it underwent mechanical attention including new front brake pads, discs, sensors and work on the propshaft. Spares or repair. • Daihatsu Copen, registered April 2004. • 659cc, 4 cylinder, turbocharged twin cam, 16 valve engine. • 2 owners from new. • 60,500 miles. • Service history. • 2 sets of keys. • V5 and old MOTs. • SORNed since 2019 – no MOT, not taxed. • Stored in a dry barn since 2019. • Spares or repair. The Copen has been off the road and stored in a dry, if dusty barn since 2019. Regularly used until 2019, the car ran fine, the automatic folding roof worked without problem and everything worked as it should. As with many Copens, the rear wheel arches suffer from rust, with rust also appearing near the sills. Additionally, the right-hand rear wing has a dent in it due being reversed into by an inattentive driver (see photos). New rear wheel arches/wings are required. This was why the car was taken off the road and SORNed, pending repairs. Then COVID came along and other matters took priority. Inside, the car is clean and tidy, allowing for being in storage (spiders have been squatting in it). No tears or holes in the seats or carpets. All the instruments and radio worked when the car was taken off the road. The engine bay is as you’d expect on a car stored for 6 years: all there but a little dusty. The car has no battery so the boot cannot be opened, but it was clean and tidy when the Copen was taken off the road. Given its position in a barn tucked in a corner, it is difficult to take good photos of the car. As it has no battery, it cannot currently be started and driven. For serious enquiries, a temporary battery can be connected to the car. The Copen has had a light wash to remove wind-blown dust accumulated during storage. It looks a bit dirty in some photos. The photos show the rust and temporary ‘repairs’ to the rear wheel arches, and also the condition of the interior. It would make a good project for someone to repair and then enjoy: its a great car to drive. Alternatively, it could be a source of spares for other Copens. £600 or open to offers. Smart car for sale, as you can see it is a super spacious family car not! But it will be a great little run around perhaps good for someone doing deliveries! MOT'd until first of October - only 71k on the clock now, same as when it was tested. The reason it hasn't been moved much since then is it has sat for a new months as it needed a new alternator which has just been fitted. Have the receipt for this. It has a Mercedes 698cc engine (0.7) which hardly uses any fuel. It has a semi automatic gearbox, very easy to get used to. So this car can be driven with an automatic only license.
